INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has declared a Flood Advisory for portions of Bartholomew, Jennings, Jackson, and Decatur Counties until 2 p.m., today. Doplar radar indicates heavy rain could cause minor flooding. By 8 a.m., Saturday, up to two inches of rain had already fallen.
Some cities that might experience high waters are Columbus, Seymour, North Vernon, Edinburgh, Greensburg, and Hope.
When encountering flooded roads, NWS reminds you to “turn around, don’t drown.” Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report high water to your loccal law enforcement agency when you can safely do so.
Again, a Flood Advisory is in effect for portions of Bartholomew, Jennings, Jackson, and Decatur Counties until 2 p.m., today, April 20..
