COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department (CPD) patrolmen identified Zackary Townsend, 29, of Columbus, as he was riding a bicycle near 11th and Chestnut Streets on Thursday afternoon.
Law enforcement was able to determine that there was a local warrant for the suspect’s arrest, and officers attempted to pull him over and speak with him. Townsend, however, allegedly refused to stop and rode his bike through several different alleys trying to escape. Eventually, he was caught in the 800 block of Reed Street and placed under arrest.
Townsend was sent to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and a Bartholomew County warrant.
