COLUMBUS, Ind. – Earlier this week, Sheriff Matt Myers swore in David Burnett as the new Bartholomew County Jail Chaplain. Following the ceremony, Burnett was presented with a badge in front of his family and Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) employees.
“Our Chaplains offer guidance and assistance to members of our agency and to BCJ inmates to provide comfort and counseling during tough times. Dave Burnett is a personal friend and an excellent addition to our jail program,” said Myers.
Lieutenant Kaleigh More of BCSO also chimed in with some kind words about Burnett, “In our line of work, it is refreshing to find someone who is so kind-hearted who not only genuinely cares about my employees and staff but truly is so compassionate about every single individual who is incarcerated.”
