JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – State Road 7 is scheduled to close on or after Monday, July 29, approximately three miles north of the Jefferson/Jennings County line. It is the first of several stretches of the roadway where box culvert repair and maintenance is planned according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The road will close in various places for a 30-day period in each location, with the total project expected to be completed by the end of October.
When the first section of the project is repaired and reopened, maintenance will move a little farther north on State Road 7 for the second job. Then, the final culvert improvement on State Road 7 will be just south of the State Road 3 and State Road 7 split, almost 12 miles north of State Road 250.
INDOT says State Road 7 will be closed one location at a time. The official state detour during the project is State Road 3 to State Road 256.
