COLUMBUS, Ind. – During the recent Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) annual meeting in Atlanta, Cummins was presented with the Jim Winsor Memorial Technical Achievement Award for its new X12 diesel engine. Krista Toenjes, General Manager of Field Sales & Support in North America, accepted the award on Cummins’ behalf.
Because it is lightweight without compromising on power, the X12 was specially selected by a panel of truck journalists for this achievement in innovation. The engine is ideal for customers in vocational and regional haul markets whose jobs depend on a truck’s ability to handle heavy loads. The lighter the engine, the more payload trucks can carry. The X12 is hundreds of pounds lighter than its next closest competitor.
