COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Council approved its 50 percent portion of two requests by entities launching drug treatment programs in the area at its Tuesday meeting.
The county will provide $100,000 to the renovation of the building at 703 Washington St., in Columbus, site of the city’s original post office. The building will house the Fresh Start Recovery Center for mothers with addictions with children under age five.
The council also approved $46,301 in funding for establishing an adult drug treatment court. The costs for this project include hiring a part-time manager, part-time prosecutor, participation in a conference for staying abreast of state standards for such courts, drug testing supplies, and program supplies.
