COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Community Corrections Advisory Board learned at its Friday meeting that the county’s REALM (Recovery Enables A Life For Men) program won the 2019 Indiana Association of Community Corrections Act Counties Change Agent Program of the Year award.
Community corrections coordinator Rob Gaskill attributed the program getting the award to its intensive curriculum. He noted that the REALM program currently has eight enrollees and will hold its first graduation in March 2020.
In other business, Circuit Court Judge Kelly Benjamin reported the Drug Treatment Court currently has eighteen participants. Jail commander John Martoccia said the jail has hired Teresa Patton as a drug treatment coordinator. She previously worked in several treatment centers in Indianapolis.
