COLUMBUS, Ind. – Milestone Contractors is starting tree-clearing operations along Carr Hill Road over Interstate 65 in Bartholomew County next week. The road will close beginning on Monday, February 3, and reopen by Friday, February 7. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says nighttime shoulder closures are also planned on I-65 near the bridge, just south of Exit 68.
INDOT says that bridge work is expected to begin the following week on February 10, and Carr Hill Road will close at that time and will not reopen until mid-July. Additional restrictions will take place on I-65 during bridge deck demolition and overhead work.
The nearly $5 million superstructure replacement project was awarded to Milestone in November and also includes County Road 200S, over I-65. All work is scheduled to be completed by November 30.
