COLUMBUS, Ind. – Mike Reed, Columbus Signature Academy principal, and Mark Schneider, director of K-12 initiatives for the Ivy Tech Columbus campus, briefed the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) Board Monday evening on the launching of an IT Pathway initiative. The plan is the first of its kind in the state.
Ivy Tech professors will teach eight classes, spread over three years. Students will take one or two classes in various areas to determine what area of focus they might want to pursue after graduation.
The BCSC/Ivy Tech program, made possible by TIF dollars, offers a possible 36 total college credits when the IT classes are combined with general-education dual-credit courses.
