FRANKLIN, Ind. — A wild weather pattern has been responsible for several accidents and wind damage over the last 24 hours.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department has investigated a total of six accidents, at least three reports of downed power lines, and six cases of trees or limbs blown in the roadway. No serious traffic accidents had occurred at press time.
Black ice has been reported in Brown, Jackson, Decatur, Johnson, Jennings and Shelby counties. Slick conditions led to two-hour delays for some schools.
Meteorologists say expect temperatures in the upper 50s on Wednesday, with a chance of thunderstorms. Tonight, temperatures will continue to rise into the 60s with a possibility of damaging winds. On Thursday there is a chance for rain and possibly a thunderstorm, with temperatures dropping into the 40s.
