COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus resident is in critical condition after being struck by a car on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to Marr Road and Pavilion Drive around 6 p.m., and found Robert Compton, 40, in the road and unresponsive. Compton was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of a head injury. Witnesses told police Compton was walking across the street and was almost struck by one vehicle. Seconds later, he was hit by another vehicle driven by Keri Hobbs, 32, of Columbus.
Accident reconstructionists from the Columbus Police Department are still investigating the accident.
