FRANKLIN, Ind. —Two Franklin residents were revived after overdosing in the back of a police car earlier this week.
Franklin police say the incident began around 1 a.m. Monday with a traffic stop at the intersection West Adams and North Main Streets. One of the passengers in the vehicle, Carl Conner, fled the area on foot and was captured after he fell on Jackson Street. Another occupant, Shane Green fled on foot, but was captured a short distance from the traffic stop.
While being transported to Johnson County Jail, Conner told police he was suffering from an overdose. The officer stopped and administered Narcan, and then proceeded to take Conner to the hospital. After treatment, Conner was taken to the jail.
Green told police he had ingested molly, heroin, spice, weed and four grams of methamphetamine. The officer called medics to treat Green, who was taken to the hospital and then to the jail.
