GREENWOOD, Ind. – Greenwood officials announced Wednesday morning that, out of an abundance of caution to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the city is canceling its Rock the Clock event. The fall block party, which draws thousands of people, was scheduled for September 26.
“As we make these difficult decisions, our number one priority is to keep our visitors and residents as safe as possible,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers. “We must continue to be proactive and avoid events that are not conducive to social distancing and other recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Indiana State Department of Health.”
Citing similar precautions, the city also announced that the annual Touch-A-Truck event, which was scheduled for September 5, will not take place. The final Adult Night at Freedom Springs Aquatic Center that was set for August 14 is being canceled as well.
