COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) busted a pair of DUI suspects, about 45 minutes apart, in separate incidents at two neighboring fast-food restaurant drive-throughs early Sunday morning.
At 3:30 a.m., officers responded to White Castle, at National and Marr Roads, regarding a possible intoxicated man in the drive-through. When police tried to speak with the driver, later identified as Paris Prophete, of Columbus, they said he was asleep in the driver’s seat. The suspect supposedly failed multiple sobriety tests and was taken to CPD headquarters where he allegedly provided a breath sample of .163%. Prophete was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .15% or greater.
Officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s drive-through, at National and Marr Roads at around 4:15 a.m., in regards to an apparently unconscious driver with his foot on the brake and the car still in gear. The suspect was identified as Jared Schoen, 23, of Columbus. After being taken to Columbus Regional Health for blood work, Schoen was booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
