NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The City of North Vernon has confirmed that the Walnut Street Road Construction Project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 1.
Over the next few weeks, residents will notice some non-road-related preliminary work in and around the downtown area, however, March 1 is still the official start date for the reconstruction of the road.
The project will include the closing of Walnut Street in eight phases over the course of the upgrade, with only one section of the road being closed at a time.
Buckeye Street will remain open to traffic, and the sidewalk on one side of the road will be maintained at all times on both Walnut and Buckeye Streets.
