GREENWOOD, Ind. – The city of Greenwood opened the new 65,000 square-foot Greenwood Fieldhouse, a modern sports and fitness complex, on Friday. Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Meyers was joined by other elected officials at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This project is very dear to my heart because it is a state-of-the-art facility that blends the old with the new,” Meyers said. “What we have now is a unique facility that delivers on our vision to create the best quality of life and a place for our residents and visitors.”
The Fieldhouse features an elevated indoor running and walking track, two multi-purpose turf fields, golf simulators, plus basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts. It also has rental spaces for parties and events. Elements of the original Greenwood Middle School property are visible in the design.
The new facility is located at 411 South Madison Ave., in Greenwood, and is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Annual Greenwood Fieldhouse memberships are available and can be combined with Greenwood Community Center memberships at a discounted rate.
