COLUMBUS, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Milestone Contractors LP will continue work this week on a $5.7 million asphalt resurfacing project that began earlier this year. Starting on or after Wednesday, July 27, milling begins on U.S. 31, between County Road 300E and Market Street/Long Road in Columbus. Asphalt paving will follow.
Motorists should expect overnight lane closures, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. INDOT says the work is expected to wrap up by late September. Crews will be active Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
Intermittent flagging and restrictions are possible on intersecting side streets during the project. Drivers should also be aware of rough pavement and changes to signal timings due to milling operations.
