COLUMBUS, Ind. — Investigators from the Columbus Fire Department have not been able to determine the cause of the fire that heavily damaged the Stonegate Apartments.
Multiple agencies have conducted interviews and analyzed the scene but have not established the exact cause. Investigators believe the fire started on the exterior of the structure and spread quickly throughout the attic. The fire damaged 12 apartments and displaced 28 people.
The State Street Area Association is collecting donations for the victims of the Stonegate fire.
Here is the collection schedule:
Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. – noon.
Monday, July 11 from 4 – 6 p.m.
Tuesday, July 12 from 4 – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, July 13 from 4 – 6 p.m.
