COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Regional Health (CRH) Foundation has announced the 2026 recipients of the Robert Borczon Memorial Scholarship and the Ronald D. Roberts, M.D., Memorial Medical Scholarship.
The Borczon Scholarship, named for the former CRH Chief Administrator (1967-1985), is an annual award supporting professional development for health system employees. This year’s recipients are Ashley Bostwick and Marely Cheek. They receive up to $5000 to pursue health-related education. Winners were selected based on financial need, academic performance, and personal interviews.
Bostwick, a Clinical Risk and Patient Safety Consultant, is pursuing a Master of Science in Public Health and Safety Management to enhance patient and workforce safety standards.
Cheek, a Patient Care Technician I, is working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner, focusing on bridging language gaps for Spanish-speaking patients.
The CRH Foundation recipient of the Roberts Memorial Medical Scholarship is Riley Ables. This annual award honors the memory of Dr. Ronald D. Roberts, a cherished local physician and advocate for continuing education.
Ables, a Columbus North High School alumnus and 2023 Indiana University graduate, is currently in his fourth year at the IU School of Medicine, with graduation expected in 2027. He plans to pursue an anesthesiology residency and eventually practice medicine in Indiana.
