NORTH VERNON/COLUMBUS, Ind. - The North Vernon Narcotics Task Force, in a joint operation with the Joint Narcotics Team (JNET) in Bartholomew County, executed a search warrant on Friday, January 30, at a house at 3326 Deerbrook Drive in Columbus.
The operation was led by North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) Narcotics Task Force Commander Graham Heffelfinger, with investigative assistance from Detective Holiday and Detective Corya, in coordination with JNET officers.
NVPD and JNET investigators allegedly located and seized more than one ounce of methamphetamine, cocaine, multiple assault-style rifles, handguns, and U.S. currency.
John Baron Snyder, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with Dealing in Meth, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Meth. All charges carry firearm enhancements due to the weapons recovered during the search.
“This investigation was not just about one arrest,” said Task Force Commander Heffelfinger. “Operations like this are aimed at disrupting the distribution networks that supply narcotics into our region. By targeting higher-level sources and removing both drugs and firearms from circulation, we reduce the flow of dangerous substances into our communities and improve overall public safety.”
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming.
