During traffic stop, Seymour Police bust man for meth, illegal documents

SEYMOUR, Ind. - After noticing a violation, a Seymour Police Department (SPD) officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on S. O’Brien Street in the area of Centennial Street on Wednesday, March 18.

While speaking with the driver, an investigation began. Officers determined that he did not have a valid Indiana driver’s license.     

During a search, SPD allegedly located a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also reportedly found fraudulent government documents.   

As a result of the investigation, David Brigidio Mendiola, 24, of Seymour, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operating a Vehicle While Never Having Received a License (class A misdemeanor)
  • Possession of Meth (level 6 felony)
  • Possession of fraudulent government documents (level 6 felony)

Brigidio Mendiola was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
