SEYMOUR, Ind. - The Seymour Fire Department (SFD) responded to a report of a structure fire at the Village Green Trailer Park on Wednesday morning, March 25, at around 7 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters made entry into the residence and encountered moderate smoke conditions. Crews located a small blaze underneath the trailer, which was determined to have been caused by a mechanical failure of the HVAC unit.
SFD extinguished the flames promptly, preventing further damage.
All residents were able to safely self-evacuate with no injuries before the arrival of emergency crews.
The occupants acted quickly by calling 911 early and helping to prevent what could have become a much more serious incident.
