SEYMOUR, Ind. - Schneck Medical Center has been named one of the nation's top hospitals by Forbes, earning the highest possible five-star rating in the publication's 2026 hospital quality rankings.

The distinction places Schneck among an elite group of just 259 hospitals nationwide to earn a five-star overall quality rating from Forbes. Approximately 5,400 U.S. hospitals were eligible for consideration.

Forbes' inaugural Top Hospitals by State list recognizes hospitals by measuring performance in patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value, and patient experience using data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog. Patient outcomes account for more than half of the overall score, reflecting Forbes' emphasis on quality clinical care.

"Being recognized among the top hospitals in the nation is a tremendous honor and a testament to the dedication of our physicians, nurses, caregivers, staff, and volunteers," said Eric Fish, MD, President/CEO. "This recognition belongs to every member of the Schneck team," said Dr. Fish. "We are proud of the compassionate care that inspired it and remain committed to delivering exceptional healthcare close to home."
