NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A cybersecurity incident involving the Jennings County Clerk’s Microsoft 365 email account was identified on Thursday, July 9.
Just before 11:30 a.m., the Clerk’s email account was used to distribute a phishing email containing a malicious link to county employees and numerous external recipients.
Immediate containment actions were initiated, including recalling the message for internal recipients where possible and securing the affected account.
If you received this email, Jennings County officials warn you not to open it or click on any links within the email.
