NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Jennings County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) Deputy Blake Maynard was on patrol on Saturday, June 20, when he observed Eric Wilson, of North Vernon, on a motorcycle pull into the parking area of a church in the Commiskey area.

The deputy knew Eric to have multiple felony drug-related warrants, including one for dealing in Methamphetamine. Maynard followed the suspect to the backyard of the church, where he successfully detained Wilson on his warrants.

During a search, the officer allegedly located about 4.5 grams of fentanyl in the suspect's pockets. As the investigation furthered, deputies supposedly found additional paraphernalia, Meth, and a scale.

Wilson was taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail, where he was remanded for his original drug warrants and the new charges of:

Possession of a Controlled Substance (Level 6 Felony)

Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges could be forthcoming. JCSO reminds that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
