Edinburgh 'Rubber Duck Regatta' postponed due to flooding

EDINBURGH, INDIANA - The inaugural Edinburgh "Rubber Duck Regatta," originally scheduled for this Saturday, August 22, at Irwin Park, has been postponed due to flooding and unsafe river conditions.

The event will now take place on Saturday, September 12, at Irwin Park in Edinburgh.

The decision was made with the safety of participants, volunteers, vendors, and spectators as the top priority. Current river conditions make it unsafe to conduct the duck race as planned.

“We are disappointed that we can't hold the Regatta this weekend, especially after so much work has gone into planning this inaugural event,” said Crissy Riley, event organizer. “The good news is that the Regatta is not canceled. We're moving the event to September 12, and we're excited for a great day in Edinburgh.”

The September 12 event will feature the activities originally planned for the Regatta, including the duck race, local vendors, food trucks, music, family activities, and the Jeep Show.

Individuals who have already purchased a duck do not need to buy another one. Registered vendors, food trucks, and other participants are being contacted regarding their availability for the new date.

Edinburgh Main Street's Rubber Duck Regatta is a community fundraising event that brings residents and visitors together for a fun-filled day at Irwin Park while supporting local community efforts.
