GREENWOOD, Ind. — The City of Greenwood has initiated a strategic infrastructure plan to overhaul and improve traffic flow along Smith Valley Road. This proposed upgrade targets segment three of the corridor to enhance safety, capacity, and overall quality of life for local commuters.
The effort includes dedicated infrastructure upgrades for the roadway segment between Valley Oaks Road and Emerson Avenue/Grassy Creek Lane. The aim is to modernize key intersections while honoring the surrounding residential and commercial layout.
The City of Greenwood Engineering Department is collaborating with regional transportation planners at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization to secure competitive federal grant opportunities. If awarded, the grant will cover up to 80% of total construction and inspection costs.
