FRANKLIN, Ind. — Johnson County REMC (JCREMC) announced that applications for the fall 2026 cycle of "Operation Round-Up" are open. Nonprofits in or near the JCREMC service area can apply for grant funding up to $5,000. The deadline is October 31.
Operation Round-Up is a community-focused initiative that supports local non-profit organizations. Each month, participating JCREMC members voluntarily round up their bill to the nearest whole dollar. The average per-member contribution is about $6 a year.
Since launching in 2019, the program has awarded over $600,000 in grants to nearly 100 local organizations, including fire departments, schools, animal shelters, and food banks. Most recently, 15 nonprofits received funding in the spring 2026 cycle, including the Needham Community Fire Department, the Humane Society of Johnson County, and Indian Creek High School.
An independent advisory board of the JCREMC Community Fund selects the recipients. The Johnson County Community Foundation administers the funds.
