NORTH VERNON, Ind. — The North Vernon Utility Service Board reviewed financial and administrative items at its regular session on Monday, September 21.
Board members Matt York, Terry Thompson, Don, Lindsay, and Matt Hurley approved regular vendor claim vouchers totaling $54,954 following routine review.
Utility administration and operational business addressed during the meeting included:

Billing software downtime: Because of an incomplete billing update, a utility billing vendor (BS&A) experienced a temporary system outage on September 15; penalty deadlines on customer accounts were extended until noon on September 16 to accommodate the delay

Equipment procurement: Department heads are reviewing vendor quotes for a new single-axle dump truck, with final pricing and feature selections expected at the next board meeting

Sludge land application: The utility's spring sludge removal agreement is moving forward as local farmland soil samples are finalized for administrative submission
