SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Seymour Board of Public Works and Safety approved an awarded contract with a deductive change order for new flow meters at its Water Pollution Control (WPC) facility during its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The board met at City Hall and presented bids to replace equipment using remaining State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan money.
Initial bids for the two flow meters, to be installed at the Headworks and stormwater overflow locations, came in higher than the engineering department's initial estimate of $130,000-$140,000. Low bidder King's Trucking & Excavation revised its quote after clearing up a misunderstanding regarding underground trenching conduit.
The board approved awarding the project, with a $21,565 deductive change order, bringing the total cost down to $198,250.
Registration was not required to attend the public meeting, and board members voted unanimously to accept the proposal as presented.
