NORTH VERNON, Ind. - The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) announced Thursday, October 29, that the JCSO app, in the works for several months, will be available to download in the next few days.
This new app will give the community a convenient way to access important information, stay informed, communicate with the sheriff's office, and use resources available throughout Jennings County, all from the convenience of your smartphone.
Here are just some of the features you can look forward to:
- Current Jail Roster - View current inmate information.
- Instant Notifications - Receive updates about road closures, emergencies, and community info
- Sex Offender Map - An interactive map showing registered sex offenders and their offenses
- Community Resources - Find assistance related to addiction recovery, housing, and domestic violence
- Sheriff’s Sales - Access information about upcoming Sheriff’s sales online
- Request Extra Patrol - Request patrols at your home/business due to suspicious activity
- Jail Information - Such as inmate account deposits through JailATM, and visitation scheduling
- Submit a Crime Tip - Share info with the sheriff's office, either with your name or anonymously
- Local Crime Statistics - Access information about crime in the community
JCSO believes the app will improve access to public safety information and community resources, give residents convenient access to services without having to make a phone call or visit the department office, and encourage community involvement in keeping Jennings County safe.
This project was made possible through fees collected through the sex offender registry, meaning no cost to the taxpayers.
