INDOT plans safety improvements for Johnson, Jackson Counties

JOHNSON/JACKSON COUNTIES, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced that it will soon install delineators at three Indiana locations.

A delineator is a portable safety post with reflective striping used to guide traffic, direct pedestrians, and mark boundaries in work zones.

These safety improvements will be installed on September 8 in the following locations:

  • Jackson County – U.S. 50 near Seymour, at West Second Street and North County Road 600E
  • Johnson County – U.S. 31 near Franklin at Israel Lane
  • Clark County – State Road 60 near Bennettsville at Bennettsville Road.

Delineator installation will address safety concerns at these locations. INDOT will use "tuff curb" installation, which means the delineators will be heavy-duty and anchored directly into the asphalt.

Drivers should always slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
