GREENWOOD, Ind. — A massive, interactive climbing sculpture is headed to the Greenwood Fieldhouse Plaza after approval by the Greenwood Park Board on Tuesday, September 1.
The board voted to move forward with a $249,660 purchase agreement with Midstates Recreation for a custom TrekFit Canyon Boulder.
Standing 12 to 15 feet high, the installation serves a dual purpose as an artistic sculpture along North Madison Avenue and a recreational climbing structure with handholds and soft-fall artificial turf underneath.
The purchase leverages state sourcing programs to save the city about $20,000, with funding contingent on the approval of the 2027 budget.
