COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department has updated its information about city parks. As of mid-afternoon on Wednesday, three parks are closed.
Officials have announced the full closures of McCullough’s Run Park, Mill Race Park, and Noblitt Park due to significant flooding following excessive rainfall.
High water in these low‐lying areas has created unsafe conditions for visitors. Residents are urged to avoid all flooded areas, including park roads, trails, and green spaces. Even shallow water can conceal debris, unstable ground, or swift currents.
Parks and Recreation crews will begin clearing mud, debris, and other hazards once water levels recede. Parks and trail segments will reopen only after the staff determines conditions are safe for public use.
Updates will be provided as conditions change.
