Local meth dealer sentenced to 20 years

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Last September, Darrell W. Crow, Jr. was charged with two counts of Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 felonies) and one count of Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 4 felony).

He was arrested during Operation Cold Front, a closely coordinated action of the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (“JNET”), Bartholomew County Sheriff, Columbus Police Department, and Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.   

Operation Cold Front also resulted in the arrest of eight other individuals for dealing and narcotics-related offenses.    

On February 23 of this year, Crow, Jr. entered a plea of guilty to Dealing in Meth (Level 2 felony).

Following a sentencing hearing on March 24, 2026, Judge James Worton of the Bartholomew Superior Court 1 sentenced him to a total of 20 years, with 15 years to be served in the Indiana Department of Correction and 5 years suspended to probation with community corrections.   

The sentencing range for a Level 2 felony is from 10 to 30 years, with an advisory sentence of 17.5 years.
