United Way Bartholomew County, Red Cross partner for upcoming blood drive

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Local residents can help their neighbors stay healthy by rolling up their sleeves and giving blood at a blood drive later this month.

United Way of Bartholomew County is collaborating with the American Red Cross to host the blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. on March 26, in the community room of the United Way Center, 1531 13th St.

Organizers at United Way chose to partner with the American Red Cross because of its commitment to meeting community needs, which aligns with United Way of Bartholomew County’s mission to create opportunities for a healthier community.

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer donors. With someone in the United States needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished.

Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O-negative, A- negative, and B-negative.
