FRANKLIN, Ind. - Franklin College has announced the appointment of Beth Young as director of communications at the institution. The position was previously held by Deidra Baumgardner, who retired from the College in May after 24 years of service.
Most recently, Young served as the senior communications manager in the Office of the Chancellor at Indiana University Indianapolis, where she led strategic communications efforts to support the University, after previously serving as a multimedia communications specialist.
“We welcome Beth Young as our director of communications,” said Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather. “She brings impressive experience and energy to the communications team as Franklin College is engaged in multiple initiatives reflecting historical progress."
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Indiana University, Indianapolis. She also holds a NextGeneration 2.0 Leadership Certification from IU Indianapolis.
Young, a resident of Greenwood, began her duties at the College on June 15.
