GREENWOOD, Ind. - Center Grove Community School Corporation has announced that Cathy Statzer, Corporation Treasurer, has been named the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) Region 8 School Business Official of the Year.

Statzer will be recognized at the IASBO Annual Conference on May 7th, alongside award recipients from across the state.

Now in her fifth year as Corporation Treasurer, Statzer has led a comprehensive transformation of the corporation's business office. Under her direction, the department has reduced staffing while simultaneously improving service quality, strengthening internal controls, and building a more resilient, cross-trained team.

Among her most significant contributions is her mastery of the complex tax rebate process associated with the corporation's energy savings projects. She has successfully secured more than $1 million in tax rebates, funds reinvested directly into future projects benefiting students and staff.

Her expertise has extended beyond Center Grove, as she has mentored school corporations and agencies across Indiana through the same process. Statzer is actively involved in IASBO, Region 8, and the Skyward User Group.

She has completed the AASBO Leadership Academy and is helping plan the upcoming Skyward State User Conference. Her commitment to mentoring peers reflects a broader dedication to elevating the school business management profession throughout the state.

The IASBO Annual Awards recognize outstanding school business professionals across Indiana who demonstrate excellence in leadership, financial stewardship, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
