CRH announces transition to paperless billing for all patients

Courtesy-CRH

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Columbus Regional Health (CRH) patients will start receiving their financial statements electronically in August 2026.

This transition to a paperless billing program will optimize operational efficiency, improve patient experience, and reduce the organization’s environmental footprint.

Patients will be automatically enrolled in the paperless billing program, receiving their statements via their identified communication preference indicated in their medical record. The first two statements will be sent electronically, with the final two mailed via paper statement, as needed.

This electronic correspondence could include receiving the statement via SMS, email, and/or through MyChart. According to their communication preferences, patients will notice more text and SMS capabilities and options such as statement information and payment options.

The initiative is designed to provide timely billing information, allowing patients quicker access to their statements, the ability to ask questions, and simplified payment options. MyChart patients who are already enrolled in paperless billing do not need to take any action.

Although the paperless billing system is designed to benefit patients, CRH understands that some may prefer to receive their statements via traditional mail. Those who wish to opt out of the paperless billing program can do so by updating their Billing Preferences in MyChart, requesting a change of "Communication Preferences" during check-in, or contacting Customer Service at 812-376-5315.
