NORTH VERNON, Ind. - The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) has arrested Isaiah Tungate, 18, of North Vernon, following an investigation into a disturbance that occurred on June 5 at a local business.
Officers responded to reports of a physical altercation involving employees at around 11:45 p.m. During questioning, officers determined that an ongoing dispute escalated into a physical confrontation in the parking lot. Investigators also learned that property damage occurred before the altercation.
A female victim sustained serious injuries and was transported by Jennings County EMS for medical treatment. The victim suffered significant injuries requiring further medical evaluation.
Tungate was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Jennings County Jail.
The case was submitted to the Jennings County Prosecutor's Office for review of the following preliminary charges:
- Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury
- Public Intoxication
- Disorderly Conduct
- Minor in Possession of Alcohol
- Minor Consuming Alcohol
- Criminal Mischief
