COLUMBUS, Ind. - In coordination with Columbus/Bartholomew County Recycling, Cummins Inc. will host a free, community-wide recycling event on Thursday, September 3, inviting all local households to participate.
The collection will take place at the Cummins CEP entrance located at 500 Central Ave., from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until disposal capacity is reached.
The event accepts a broad spectrum of materials, including standard household recyclables such as plastic, metal, glass containers, cardboard, paper, and scrap metal. Additionally, residents can donate gently used shoes and clothing.
Acceptable appliances and electronics include televisions, computers, monitors, accessories, refrigerators, humidifiers, and air conditioning units.
The initiative also offers safe disposal for specialized items, specifically fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), all battery types, household paints and stains, chemicals, antifreeze, and motor oil.
