SEYMOUR, Ind.- The Seymour Police Department (SPD) arrested one suspect on charges that include dealing and possession of marijuana on Monday, April 6.
Officers were on routine patrol when they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a residence in the 700 block of W. McDonald Street in Seymour. They made contact at the home and continued to smell the odor of pot.
Based on that information, SPD obtained a Jackson Circuit Court search warrant for the location.
During the search of the location, police allegedly found more than ten pounds of marijuana, marijuana edibles, and marijuana cartages. The approximate street value of the items located is above $10,000.
As a result of the investigation, officers took Andrea B. Welton, 35, of Seymour, into custody and charged her with Dealing in Marijuana (level 5 felony), Possession of Marijuana (level 6 felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony), and Possession of Drug paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor.
Welton was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
